Buyer FAQs
If you don’t see one of your questions listed here, click on the chat button in the bottom right hand corner and I will personally answer the question for you.
Can I become a homebuyer even if I have had bad credit, and don’t have much for a down-payment?
- Answer: The short answer is yes. There are plenty of options available to you including no down-payment programs. Yes, I said “NO Down-payment programs” . Everybody’s situation is unique. After our initial meeting, we will have a great idea of what options are available to you.
How much do your services cost? ( I made this big, bold and red because this is the number 1 question that I get asked)
- Answer: My services are free to you as a buyer. Realtors get paid by the person who is selling there home. Why? Because they know that we are going to help them sell their home by bringing buyers who are qualified and ready to buy. Just to reiterate that point, it will cost you absolutely nothing to use me as your Realtor.
So what will my monthly payments cover?
- Answer: Most loans have 4 parts: principal: the repayment of the amount you actually borrowed; interest: payment to the lender for the money you’ve borrowed; homeowners insurance: a monthly amount to insure the property against loss from fire, smoke, theft, and other hazards required by most lenders; and property taxes: the annual city/county taxes assessed on your property, divided by the number of mortgage payments you make in a year. Most loans are for 30 years, although 15 year loans are available, too. During the life of the loan, you’ll pay far more in interest than you will in principal – sometimes two or three times more! Because of the way loans are structured, in the first years you’ll be paying mostly interest in your monthly payments. In the final years, you’ll be paying mostly principal.
When can we start looking at houses?
- Answer: First, we need to have a face to face meeting at my office. We will find out exactly how much you qualify for so that we are not looking at houses outside of your price range. Once we figure out exactly how much how you qualify for, we began the house hunt. We can even look at houses that same day.
What if I have already found the house that I want to buy?
- Answer: Contact me right away. We can expedite the process and make sure you place an offer on the home asap.
You work for Keller Williams Realty. Does this mean you can only show homes that are listed by Keller Williams Realty?
- Answer: Not at all. I have the ability to show you every single home that is available on the market.
I have small children. Can I bring them along on our appointments?
- Answer: Of course you can
My job is to make the process of buying a home as easy and comfortable for you as possible. Don’t ever feel like you have to make special arrangements for your children. Bring them along.
Can you help me buy a new home as well?
- Answer: Absolutely, and I wouldn’t recommend buying a new home without a Realtor. Why? Because the sales agents and the new homes are there to protect the interests of their company. Their job is to sell you a home from their company, regardless of whether or not it is the right fit for you. I will make sure you know about all the new home communities and we will visit each one and you can decide which one is the best choice for you and your family.
I am ready to get started. What is the next step?
- Answer: Contact me and we can get started. Like I said before, I am here to make this process as easy and stress free for you as possible. I look forward to meeting you!
